How to Go Live with IRL Pro on Android Using CloudOBS
A step-by-step guide for IRL streamers — get from zero to live in under 5 minutes.
IRL Pro is the go-to streaming app for Android IRL streamers. It’s feature-rich, handles unstable connections well, and works seamlessly with CloudOBS — giving you a full cloud OBS setup with scenes, overlays, and multistreaming, all controlled from your phone.
This guide takes you from zero to live. If you have your CloudOBS credentials ready, the whole setup takes under 5 minutes.
What You Need Before Starting
• An Android phone running Android 9 or later
• The IRL Pro app installed (available on Google Play)
• Your CloudOBS credentials — you’ll find these in your welcome email or your client
Step 1 — Open IRL Pro and find the settings icon
Install IRL Pro from the Google Play Store and open the app. On the main screen you’ll see the camera preview with a row of icons on the left side. Tap the gear icon (highlighted below) to open the app settings.
Step 2 — Open the Connections settings
From the Settings list, scroll down and tap Connections.
Step 3 — Create a new outgoing connection
On the Outgoing connections screen, tap New connection to start configuring your CloudOBS server.

Step 4 — Identify the Name and URL fields
On the New outgoing connection screen, you’ll see two fields: Name (a label for your connection) and URL (where the stream is sent).
Ignore the TWITCH.TV and KICK.COM quick-setup buttons at the top — we’ll fill these in manually.

Step 5 — Enter your CloudOBS server details
This is where you paste the connection details from your CloudOBS welcome email.
IMPORTANT — do not use the TWITCH.TV or KICK.COM quick-setup buttons. CloudOBS receives the stream first, processes it through OBS, and then sends it on to your platform.
Set SRT sender mode to Caller, latency to 2500 ms, and paste your stream ID into the streamid field.
Step 6 — Save the connection
Once all the fields are filled in, tap Save to store your CloudOBS connection.
Step 7 — Go live from IRL Pro
Go Live
Return to the main IRL Pro screen and tap the record button. IRL Pro connects to your CloudOBS server and starts sending video. Within a few seconds you’ll see ‘Connected to Twitch chatroom’ appear at the bottom.
TIP — Where do I find my Stream ID? It’s in your CloudOBS welcome email under ‘Your
Stream Details’, or visible in your client dashboard.
Troubleshooting: IRL Pro will not connect to OBS
Connection failed?
• Double-check the URL and streamid — no spaces, no typos
• Make sure SRT sender mode is set to Caller
• Try increasing latency to 4000 ms on weak connections
Video looks pixelated or choppy?
• Lower your bitrate in the IRL Pro Video settings
• Move to an area with stronger signal

IRL Pro and OBS: common questions
What is the IRL Pro app for?
IRL Pro is a free Android app for streaming live from your phone while you move around. Unlike the Twitch or Kick apps, it can send your video over SRT and SRTLA to your own server, split it across two mobile connections at once, and let you control the stream from the phone. It is the standard tool for street streaming on Android.
Is IRL Pro free?
Yes. The app is free on Google Play, and everything in this guide — SRT, bonding, connection profiles — works without paying for anything inside the app.
How do I connect IRL Pro to OBS?
Through your server, not directly. In Settings → Connections → New connection you paste the SRT URL and stream ID of your CloudOBS server, set the sender mode to Caller, and save. OBS receives the feed and pushes it to your platform with your scenes, overlays and alerts. The seven steps above walk through every field.
Does IRL Pro work with SRTLA bonding?
It does. Enter the address as srtla:// instead of srt:// and IRL Pro will spread the video across every connection you have active — typically your SIM plus a pocket 4G router. Use two different operators; two lines on the same network fail in the same places.
Why does IRL Pro say "connection failed"?
Four things cause nearly all of these. The stream ID has a space or a typo. The sender mode is not set to Caller. The latency is too low — try 2500 ms and go up from there. Or the phone is on a network that blocks the port. Check them in that order.
IRL Pro or Moblin?
IRL Pro is Android, Moblin is iPhone. That is the whole decision. Both are free, both do SRT and bonding, and both talk to CloudOBS in the same way.
