What an IRL streaming server actually does

When you stream from your phone straight to Twitch, the platform is watching your mobile signal. Lose it for two seconds in a lift and the broadcast ends: a new VOD starts, your viewers get an offline screen, and most of them leave.

An IRL streaming server puts a stable machine between you and the platform. Your phone sends video to the server; OBS runs there, permanently online, and it is OBS that holds the connection to Twitch, Kick or YouTube. Twitch never sees your phone moving around — it sees a server that does not move.

When your signal drops, the stream does not. OBS switches to your "be right back" scene and comes back to camera when you have coverage again. For the person watching, nothing happened.

Questions before you buy

Do I need a powerful phone?

No. The heavy work happens on the server. Any phone from the last few years that runs Moblin or IRL Pro is enough.

Can I use my own overlays and alerts?

Yes. You upload them and we set them up in your OBS, the same as you would locally.

What is the difference between the Ingest Server and the full plans?

The Ingest Server at €9.99 is only the entry point for your video — it does not include OBS, and you need your own PC running OBS to receive it. The IRL Server Cloud plans include the OBS machine as well, which is what most people actually want.

Is there a contract?

No. Monthly, cancel whenever you want, and no setup fee.

How long does it take to get running?

Activation is immediate. From paying to being live is usually a matter of minutes: you get your server details, paste them into the app, and go.
